Afrikaans: Kasuur, Xhosa/Zulu: Umkhwenkwe.
The trunk features horizontal markings. The leaves are spiralled at the end of branchlets, and emit a resinous smell when crushed. There are three small dots in a triangle in the cross section of a broken off stalk. The flowers are small, creamy-yellow and scented. They grow in dense clusters at the end of branchlets.
